Joseph A Pettinato

My dad was in the Marines. He enlisted when he was 20 years old. I am very proud of my dad for defending our country. He enlisted in the Marines in February 1951. He was in the Korean War from March 1952 until September 1952. He was shot in his ring finger and received a honorable discharge from the Marines at that time. He also received a purple heart because of his bravery and from getting shot. My dad never talked about that time of his life and all he went through. All the people in the Armed Forces I have a lot of respect for serving and protecting our country. My dad was a hero I feel and he was one of the lucky ones that got to come home alive.
