Louis E. Narducci Jr.
Navy
Second Class Quartermaster (E5)
Veteran

Louis E. Narducci Jr.,enlisted into the Navy from 1959 to 1965 holding the rank at discharge Second Class Quarter Master (E5). He served on “Fred T. Berry” #858 Destroyer (DD) from 1959 to 1960 and “The USS Hartley #1029 Destroyer Escort (DE) from 1960 to 1961. During that time, they helped recover the space capsule “The Friendship Seven.” After that, he was an instructor at the Naval Reserve Center until discharge. Our dad loved navigation and teaching, and passed on his love of science and instruction to his youngest daughter, Gina, who is currently teaching science in the Erie area.
Louis was also an avid reader, and his favorite books to read were military history- especially WWII. He not only read these books, but shared what he learned to both of his daughters. Unknowingly, his daughter Gina, developed a love for naval military history too, and now is reading all of his old books from his library after his death in 2022.
My name is Gina, and I incorporate my love for my country in as many lessons as I can. Each interesting detail I know, I learned from my dad and his books. From the “USS Indianapolis” to “The Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors”, I am now an avid reader and will forever enlighten my students for years to come.
