Richard Andrew Mikolon

With only an 8th grade education my father enlisted in the Navy when he was 18. He served as a baker on the USS Madawaska. A year after his discharge he went to seminary where he finished high school as well as seminary to become a minister. As a minister he lived in three locations, but he never lost his love for the Navy. In Erie he became a member of Veterans of WW1 Barracks 121 and was their group chaplain for many years. From papers of his I found he was also a commander for them. In addition he was assistant chaplain at the VA Medical Center.
